corduroy licorice was a day late and a dollar short. the counter guy at blockbuster was so pissed at him.

my little soliloquy about perception yesterday reminded me of a joke:

there were two kids. one was an optimist and one was a pessimist. a psychologist put the pessimist in a room with a pony. he put the optimist in a room full of manure. a bit later he went to check on the kids. the pessimist stood with his arms crossed complaining, "i don't want a pony. it's too much work to take care of one. plus, if i ride it, i may fall off and get hurt."

the psychologist then opened the door to the optimist's room. the kid was digging through the manure with pure joy. "what are you doing?" asked the doctor. the optimist responded, "you can't fool me! i know there's a pony in here somewhere!"

moral of the joke:

some see the crap in a pony, some see a pony in the crap.

wink of the day:

don't snicker, but dolly parton's new album, little sparrow, is really good. sweet appalachian-type melodies and simplicity.

my friend k-girl told me to check out tahiti 80 and they make great music, too! 70s pop-esque/bossa nova-y/electronica melodies that spread good vibrations like streaming sunlight.
