i can't think of a nicer way to start a long weekend than to read an update from malice.

and now i sit at my desk and ponder three days off in a row. what a lovely thing it 'tis. especially after the late nights and work stress of the past few weeks. there will be movies and girl time and very good food. noshing, kvetching and surf movie-ing with a-d-d-chick, pico de gallo, strawberry juice and simone-nizing with the lovely and talented musing. red meat and red wine before painting the town red as a reluctant wingman for a femme friend on a manhunt.

after viewing a few films recently which received the recommendation, i'm beginning to think that "two thumbs up" means "mediocre, at best." ebert's gone soft.

in music news, a high-five for wilco's new album, yankee hotel foxtrot. the review i read described it as (paraphrasing) sounding like a pirate radio station you stumble upon that's playing cool, undiscovered pop.

also mentionable is aimee mann's new album lost in space. it hasn't blown me away like her other albums have, but it is sweetly sad and lyrically rich, as per usual. one of the coolest things about the album is its ghost world-ly lyric booklet which features illustrations by seth.
