i recently got an e-mail advertising "toys for passion play." imagine my surprise when it turned out that they weren't hawking action figures of jesus, mary and roman centurions for festive easter celebrations.

good movie: the good girl starring jennifer aniston. it was directed by miguel arteta and written by mike white. a black comedy as simple, salty and satisfying as a bag of mesquite barbecue chips.

poopy movie: possession starring gwyneth paltrow and aaron eckhart (both of whom i usually enjoy in movies, but not in this outing). i consider this neil labute's oceans eleven and it will take a full frontal from him before i forgive this bloated, chemistry-less, sappy suckage.

hilarious movie: nurse betty. one of neil labute's directing highlights. cleverly and freshly written by john c. richards and james flamberg. chris rock sinks his teeth into the sidekick role to hilarious effect, as they say in the business.
