2001-02-06 | 05:20:17 i recently saw a foreign film from china called in the mood for love. it was more a painting than a movie. small in scale, luscious in texture, sensuous in detail, quiet, yet powerful. it tells the story of star-crossed love. it seems the most poignant, treasured love stories in literature and film are the most tragic. wuthering heights... gone with the wind... romeo and juliet... what is it about love and pain that is so intimately entwined? how can the most beautiful thing in life cause so much sadness? my heart hurts right now. i think my love is star-crossed. but though fate may not let things play out as hope requested, the love in my heart and mind remains. and i want you to know that. |
