*sigh*

i'm soy annoyed with george dubya bush trying to blur the line between church and state. there is not enough edamame in the world to chuck at him for this offense in my estimation. i was glad someone asked him if he would fund charity work conducted by the nation of islam. he said no, because he felt that organization encouraged hate. with that answer he's already shown the flaw in his logic. how are you going to judge which churches are acceptable for federal funding and which are not?

what if david koresh had asked for government monies for a meals on wheel venture for the elderly? what if james jones needed kool-aid backing? separation of church and state is not just a good idea, it's the law. nonprofit status should be enough.

***

i was cheered by hearing an account of a last-minute inaugural party thrown by the entertainment industry because of the name of the band they booked for the event: asleep at the wheel.

damn those florida chads and chuckleheads.

ok, i'm off my soapbox now.

***

on a lighter note, i found a cool page thanks to a link from outbox. it's called breakfast fantastico and his anecdotes are great, despite the "survivor" tv show tangents.

***

"survivor" soy annoys me, too, but fortunately i can exercise my right to separation of ass and couch and will miss that melodramatic hogwash, too.

boy, i'm in a royal mood, ain't i?

***

i just saw the movie "twin falls idaho" on video. it was cool and eerie. a shade of david lynchness strangeness to it, which i always dig. it touched on a lot of interesting ideas in a fresh way, including commitment and loyalty and compassion. there. that's a better note to end on. whew!
