catching up with depeche mode...oh, i mean, depeche nictate...just can't get enough, you know.

last week, i'sa went to see the foo fighters! raaaaaaaaarrrrrrrh! (that was my rock'n'roll roar, yo.)

so my friend, the great candini, was kind enough to be my date. we ate sushi in the car as we tooled our way to the amphitheater at universal studios in preparation for full-on FOOage. and we got it!

dave grohl started the show on a second set of drums. he and taylor whipped up some percussion frenzoids and then dave grabbed his guitar, played a few bars, and went running off the stage and up the aisle. he ended up on this platform in the middle of the crowd. it was so cool to see

'lil dave whaling away at his ax in a sea of screaming fans. he was so excited and out of breath, he'd leave off the last few words of his lyrics in every other line or so. how cute. he was 'hacited to be rockin' the how-owse.

i love the foo fighters. i used to think their first album couldn't be beat, until their second album came out. lordy me, those boys can rock melodically, let me tell you what. love them. loooooooooove them. grrrrrr! (that was my sexually charged roar.)

during a slow song, people started holding up their zippos. dave stopped singing and said, "hey, thanks for the lighters, man. nice touch!" later, in another quietly emotional song opening, he stopped mid-lyric again and said, "ok, who got chills?"

ahahahahahaha!

ok. let me get this straight, dave. you played in nirvana with the almost-sainted kurt cobain...and now you have a band of your own that is DAMN good...not just passable or so-so, but a POP/ROCK stand-out...with enough hooks for a clothes closet, as one review said,...ok, ok, and you're pretty darn cute in your little striped suede adidas sneakers and shaggy hair...AND you're funny and charming? hot DAMN, boy! i want me some grooooooohllllll. (that was my star-f*cker roar. heh. i just said the f-asterisk word. heh heh.)

anyways, it was a super great show. oh, and i almost forgot to mention that the nasty boy duo, tenancious d, opened for ff. funny, raunchy stuff, man. hilarious lyrics.

so, yeah. i already proposed to andrew, king of diaryland. his silent response spoke volumes. now i must plot how to woo davey foo. woohoo!

***

speaking of wooing, why not trick-or-treat over to ghoulboo to see what kind of haunting list miss erica has brewed up.
