i've always wanted to live in an apartment building with a 1960ish name sculpted in metal and attached over the entrance.

i don't know if you've seen the type, but los angeles is full of them. the names are usually hammered out in a scrolled type to exhibit a certain knowing flair that its inhabitants surely share.

it's a sign of class, panache, a bit of cosmopolitan dash.

i often drive pass the "chez suzi," "barrington glen" and "adam's arms" buildings.

i like the mid-century architecture of these places, but the melodramatic name out front seals the deal.

i mean, how cool would it be to know that every day you'd come home to "adam's arms"?

or when someone asked, "where do you live?" your reply would be, "in adam's arms."

hee hee ho ha ha!
