2002-03-19 | 6:50 p.m. everyone told corduroy licorice that it'd be tough to fill his father's shoes, but corduroy found it quite easy. with just one big bowl of oatmeal and a serving spoon, corduroy was sloppin' sneaker to dress shoe fuller than heck. *** i heard a radio ad for a car dealership recently that cracked me up by accident. the somber-toned male voiceover was bragging about the outstanding customer service of the place and then closed by saying, "at so-and-so lexus, we treat you as if you mattered." heheheh. now 100% irony free! *** my lovely new music discovery: the quiet-as-a-church-mouse female singer/songwriter stylings of rosie thomas. you can check out song samples at that link. she also has her own site. i lurve the simple, sweet cover art and the simple, sweet sounds inside. my favorite song is "wedding day." listening to it is like driving along on an empty country road in a vintage ford with the afternoon sun warming your arm on a cranked-down window. here are lyrics from "wedding day": so much for love i guess ain't she grand? puts a girl like me in mind of a road trip. |
