i finally finished a heartbreaking work of staggering genius by dave eggers. it was amazing. it was fairly flawed structurally, but you gotta forgive stuff like that sometimes in the face of greater substance. the story was touching, gut-wrenching, hilarious. i was reluctant to finish it. i really liked spending time with dave and his little brother toph. they're the coolest, man.

tonight i get to go see the waterboys perform. woohoo!

i used to share an office with a girl who was always raving about the waterboys. even though she was a bit of a pill, i didn't hold it against the band. such beautiful songs, "in search of the rose" and "the whole of the moon." dreamy...

i remember when desert storm put the song "a man is in love" on a mix tape for me. those were the salad days.
