every once in awhile, corduroy licorice would have a field day. sometimes he visited a series of baseball fields, other times fields of the wheat variety.

i experienced serendipity this weekend. it was an ok flick. an interesting take on fate and destiny and signs, with a little inspiration from the other movies-where-the-love-interests-spend-most-of-the-movie-apart sleepless in seattle and next stop wonderland. unfortunately, the lead actress kate beckinsale did nothing for me. i could "see" her "acting," which really "annoys" me and her british accent seemed fake...which is pretty darn hi-larious considering she hails from the UK. john cusack did his usual schtick. he's like the hand-wringing, hair-squeezing woody allen of gen x.

the best parts of the movie for me were the small parts the adorable molly shannon and talented eugene levy played. molly got the audience to laugh with a simple hand flail. now that's talent!

plus, they played a nick drake song during the big finish. that was worth some points. and the movie actually made me get misty...but not over the romance...over seeing beautiful nyc and wondering if my destiny might be waiting there...or was it waiting there before and now i've missed it?

it's odd to get homesick for a place you've never lived.
