corduroy licorice liked to call his friends bluffs. whatever the guys' real names were didn't matter to corduroy. "hey bluffs, wanna see a movie?" "you're really pissing me off, bluffs."

ok, so the nictate "dating by committee" verdict is in. online dating boy has been officially determined to be "dumb." actually my homie called him a "clod," which i thought was very fitting. and now in e-mail, he has encouraged me to call him whenever i get the urge...if i feel like talking versus typing ...evidently his dialing finger is up some virtual woman's poop chute.

anyway, darlings, while i was regaling a girlfriend with his dating rap sheet over lunch this weekend, i mentioned that he had mentioned (all while insulting my flippy hair) that he had had a mullet in the 80s.

my friend gasped in horror and said: "oh my god! historical perspective aside, that's just disturbing. you know, that stuff is in his genetic coding. oh my god."

ahaha! it was funny that of all the red flags i mentioned to her, the "all business in the front, party in the back" hockey hair ape drape was the most heinous offense in her book.

different strokes for different yolks. some like it scrambled, others poached.

winks of the day:

if you care for charming foreign films at all, you've got to see bread and tulips. i knew it was going to be good because my favorite movie reviewer, the man who viewed too much, mike d'angelo had given it a good grade on his movie rating list. it was so touching, inspiring and full of life's spirit, love and good humor.

one of the things i liked best about it was the beautiful star, licia maglietta, who plays the taken-for-granted housewife. not only was she perfect in the role, the character she plays is just plain clumsy. it's very endearing to watch her awkwardness on-screen, especially for me...a confirmed clumsaholic. they tried to make clumsiness part of sandra bullock's charm in miss congeniality, but it was way too slapstick. here, like everything else in the film, it was done just right!

oh my gosh, i don't think i've ever walked out of a movie feeling so light on my toes and happily content.

the new rufus wainwright album poses is another happily-content-feeling-inducer. he has an oddly beautiful voice and occasionally sounds like he has gauze in his mouth, but he's so lyrical and lovely...listening to him, i'm swept off my feet once again!
