corduroy licorice busted a button. it was the "0" button on his phone. he had a crush on a locale telephone operator and called her whenever he could think of an excuse. she started to suspect his interest when corduroy asked her to help him place a collect call to dominos pizza.

i started reading bridget jones' diary last night and even though i only made it through a couple of chapters, i already like it better than the movie.

the book begins with her list of new year's resolutions. two lists: a "i will not..." and an "i will..." version. i was surprised at how so many of the things on her wish list i related to, too.

i want to wrestle control of my life back. keep a balanced checkbook. eat right. be money-wise and exercise. go to bed at a decent hour. get to work on time. get everywhere else on time, too. read more. write a script. write a book. write some overdue thank you notes. (not in that order. don't worry, dear gift givers!)

i think i can do it all, too. hopefully i won't become boring in the process. maybe my flakiness and almost-wobbling-out-of-controlness is part of my inherent charm? seems to work for ms. jones. perhaps i'd better just cross that brig' when i come to it.
