having faith is a tough gig.

in the face of multifold obstacles, it would be easy (in some ways, harder in others) to give up.

to beat a full or partial retreat.

the world is a pretty intimidating place to be.

ugly things happen every day. the news says so.

there are few things in life you can really count on.

you can get bruised, folded and multilated by its bumps and detours.

which means this getting out of bed every day stuff is a risky business.

but, as the line from the movie "risky business" says, "sometimes you've got to say what the f*** and go for it."

life is a many splendored thing. during it, we come across beautiful things worth taking a risk for. worth risking getting a black and blue heart for. worth risking your love for.

but what about that fear that spins your thoughts and pulls at your guts? sometimes you've got to tell that fear, "poo-poo on you! out damned doubt!"

sometimes...yes, indeed, sometimes you've got to say what the faith and go for it.
