isn't an e-mail in-box an amazing place?

seeing the names of new people and old friends makes me all hacited.

i remember rhetoric once saying that sometimes he waits awhile to open e-mails from his favorite people because he likes that "packages waiting to be opened" feeling of anticipation. i know what he means. sometimes i run my little mouse pointer over the name of someone special sitting in my in-box list like i'm putting my arm around their shoulder in greeting. that little grouping of letters that makes up a name represents so much wonderful stuff that makes up that person.

ah, in-boxes rule.

a brand new pen pal responded to my entry yesterday about my proposed hug club with this clever shel silverstein poem:

Hug O' War

I will not play at tug o' war.

I'd rather play at hug o' war,

Where everyone hugs

Instead of tugs,

Where everyone giggles

And rolls on the rug,

Where everyone kisses,

And everyone grins,

And everyone cuddles,

And everyone wins.

- Shel Silverstein

bravo, shel, bravo! this will be the hug club motto. it will be said at the beginning of every hug club meeting. hug club kids, take note: you should begin to memorize the rhyme now. i'm currently pricing fezzes for club hatwear...i figure what's good for the shriners should be good for the huggers...

(thanks, michael for sending that delightful poem!)

today over at girlboy, another shell talks about the kind of boy who would dig her poems...
