it's 4 a.m. as i type this. i woke up on the couch. when i started falling asleep, joey and chandler were fighting over chandler's new roommate. when i woke up, an infomercial was blaring. i keep trying to cheat my body out of sleep, but it's having none of it.

"oh, you're going to try to stay up until 3 a.m. two days in a row again, aye? remember what happened last time you did that? that's right, we slapped you with a massive headache and sore throat and kept you home for two days. don't mess with the corporal force, chiquita. feel that little scratchiness in your throat? that's just a friendly reminder about who's really running this organization. one word...one word...and we've got you feverish and glassy-eyed with only daytime tv to comfort you. punk ass inhabitor, thinking you call the shots just because you've got what you like to think of as control of your cerebral cortex. who do you think you are? now, get your ass to bed. quit typing. geez! what does a body have to do to get some sleep around here?"

ok, ok. i'm almost gonna get my shut-eye on, but i wanted to quote a couple folks who've posted words of wonder lately...

esol on the election:

"So we abdicate personal determination and put our leadership in the hands of people that border on tragically dysfunctional by nature, and we hope they somehow can steer us right. and speaking of getting serious about changing themselves, malice:
